We need to know what type of property you are advertising, for example is it a house or a flat?
The different property types available are:
Housing tenure refers to how the property is owned, there are various forms and it is important for buyers to know what the tenure is, so we ask you to include this in your advert.
Freehold
The owner has legal ownership of the building and the ground it is built on. Usually for houses.
Leasehold
Usually for flats and apartments, you own the right to use the property but not the property itself or the land it is on.
You own the use for the specified time on the lease and when it ends the property is handed back to the freeholder, who has the rights to lease the property.
Commonhold
Introduced in 2004, a form of freehold for a property where there are multiple units, or flats of separate ownership which also has common areas such as stairways, halls and driveways.
This information can help your advert stand out from the competition, select which option applies for your property.

Listing this information won’t affect how the advert appears on the website, we ask for this information so that it appears in the correct search results.
The property description is your chance to make your advert stand out and add more detail about your property.
Here you should add whether it has a garden or outdoor space, list the local amenities nearby, detail the public transport links and anything else that is unique about your home.
Think about what a buyer would be looking for and why your property would be a good fit for them.
You don’t have to write like an estate agent, it’s better to have a personal touch when writing the property description.
Try to include these points to get you started:
Remember you will be advertising your property alongside many others on the website so make it stand out from the competition.
For example
Local Amenities:
Close to the local primary school and secondary school and the Sixth Form College is within easy walking distance, 10 minutes.
Public transport connections include the local bus route into the centre of town and the train station is a 10 min drive away.
The lively city centre has many pubs, bars, restaurants, shops and cinema which are a 15 min drive and the local Asda and Tesco are 5 min drive.
Make sure you take the photos when the property is clean and tidy and get a clear, well lit photograph of each room in the property as well as the front of the property or apartment block.
If you have a garden, garage or off-street parking make sure you get a photo of each of these as well.
It is a legal requirement to provide an Energy Performance Certificate for buyers to view if you are selling a property in the UK.
An EPC certificate is valid for 10 years, so if we can find a valid EPC for your property on the EPC Register, we will automatically fill in the energy efficiency ratings for you.
Scotland
For properties in Scotland, your EPC will typically be included in your 'Home Report', however you can also attain an EPC independent of your Home Report.
You can check to see if you already have a valid EPC by searching the Scottish Energy Performance Register online.
Choose the date when you want your property listing to go live on our website.
